Description Paradigm™ GOCAD® Kine3D®-3, part of the Paradigm™ GOCAD® suite of sophisticated structural analysis tools, provides a workflow approach that helps geoscientists in the restoration of 3D models in complex areas where 3D seismic data is scarce or of poor quality. Specialists and non-specialists alike rely on the unique features of GOCAD Kine3D-3 to restore basin or reservoir models to their desired un-deformed state using geologic, lithologic and geomechanical parameters. The GOCAD Kine3D-3 workflow provides tools for defining the stratigraphy, lithology and geomechanics of a reservoir and a link to finite element code for 3D restoration. The output enables computation of the source rock burial, as well as the geometry of carrier beds, structures versus time and strain/stress field for fracture modeling. Kine3D-3 also calculates the paleo-geometry of the basin, an essential step in the quantification of the petroleum system. Such thorough analysis of the petroleum system is integral to averting risks when making drilling decisions for complex structures.
